Unlicensed cancer, diabetes medicine worth 6.6 crores seized in Kolkata
Kanchan Chakraborty, a 37-year-old resident of Dhupguri in West Bengal, passed away suddenly after developing severe coughing and spitting blood, just two days after exhibiting symptoms of fever. Family members confirmed that Kanchan had been experiencing fever and had taken medication at home. Despite being advised to seek hospital treatment, he refused, considering his fever to be mild and not serious.
On Saturday, his condition rapidly worsened as he began coughing heavily, followed by the appearance of blood from his mouth. Concerned by this sudden deterioration, his family immediately rushed him to the Dhupguri Sub-Divisional Hospital. However, upon arrival, doctors declared him dead. The medical staff at the hospital were unable to determine the precise cause of death, as they could not identify any specific condition contributing to the sudden decline in health.
In light of the uncertain cause of death, hospital authorities recommended an autopsy to investigate further. The police have since taken the body to Dhupguri Police Station and arranged for it to be sent to Jalpaiguri for a post-mortem examination. The autopsy will help determine whether the death was caused by an underlying medical condition or other factors. The investigation is ongoing to ascertain the exact cause of the sudden death.
